project ME

What is project ME?

project ME supports women to achieve goals set through their work with our Counselling & Support program.

Who can use project ME?

This program is for women aged up to 35 years who live in the City of Port Phillip, which includes St Kilda, Elwood, South Melbourne, Port Melbourne Middle Park and Albert Park. Our focus is on women who have experienced difficult personal issues and who are working to find a connection with their community.

What does project ME offer?

  • Support to achieve life goals
  • financial assistance in the form of brokerage or small ‘scholarships' to assist access to skill development, education or opportunities to develop stronger social connections.

What are the benefits of project ME?

Many young women have discovered a way forward for themselves by achieving personal goals through project ME. For example:

Krissy, 19, needed to leave home due to abuse in her family. As well as providing counselling and support we were able to sponsor her to do a Bar and Hospitality Course so that she could obtain part-time work. Initially she worked a few days a week or whenever the boss needed her. Today she is the manger of a juice bar and she has her own flat.
