Good Policy is the free newsletter of the Social Policy and Research Unit of Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service.
We aim to bring the latest news of research and policy developments to our supporters, colleagues, service partners and interested donors. Contributions come from the Social Policy and Research Unit, workers in Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service programs and services and from policy writers and workers with an interest in our policy work.

Latest Edition: Summer 2011
Our most recent edition of Good Policy focuses on how we can better support young people experiencing hardship and disadvantage. The edition includes articles on the unique needs of pre-teens in terms of welfare and support services; improving the life chances of young people transitioning from out-of-home care; how to harness the energy and passion of young people in community organisations; the hidden costs of education; and utilising digital storytelling to empower young people to talk about their life experiences. It also features news items describing the research and advocacy of not only Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service but also Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand.
