Information for Trusts & Foundations
Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service is endorsed as an income tax exempt charitable entity and deductible gift recipient.
Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service serves communities in St Kilda, St Albans, Collingwood and the Mornington Peninsula. We work with individuals, families and communities disadvantaged by isolation, low incomes, unemployment, homelessness and family violence.
Funding for services comes from government, organisations, philanthropic trusts and individual supporters. In 2008/2009, government grants accounted for just over half of incoming funds. Without significant support from the philanthropic sector and the community, Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service could not provide the range of services and support as many people as we do.
Broadly our services include:
-
Coordinating and providing the national No Interest Loan Scheme
-
Financial counselling for people on low incomes
-
Family services and parenting skills group work
-
Supported housing, life-skills, leadership, counselling and group work programs for children and young people
-
Community house programs
-
Services for survivors of domestic violence including safe refuges, supported housing, outreach and group work
-
Services for marginalised women including a mentoring program, support and advocacy work, health and wellbeing projects, outreach support (inc. prison visits), group work and community development
Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service also works on important research projects, providing authoritative and informed input to government policies and preparing submissions to government reviews.
