Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service has played an important role in the establishment of microfinance - small loans - programs in Australia. We started the first No Interest Loan Scheme in 1981 in Collingwood, Victoria with funds from the Good Shepherd Sisters.
Today NILS operates through over 400 community loans providers nationwide. Our Microfinance Unit is responsible for the ongoing coordination of the National NILS Providers Network.
